Self Initiated, 2024-Present
‘Tapes’ is an ongoing self initiated project, focused on preserving and exploring homemade cassette tapes from the late 1980s to the early 2000s.
These tapes have been digitally re-recorded to help reintroduce this medium to a wider audience. I’ve been interested in cassette culture for the unique ability to make music more accessible for everyone.
It allowed anyone with a tape deck to record, share, and distribute music, turning blank tapes into tools for creativity and self-expression, leading to wildly experimental home made design for packaging and releases. This era of music heavily influences my inspiration when approaching a new project.
